Prepare to party on Monday, March 15 That's when Falconworks invites the world to Brooklyn to celebrate past victories and raise money for future successes. The acclaimed Red Hook theater organization's Annual Benefit is a fundraiser disguised as a soiree – a chance to laugh, dance, network, and raise enough green to bolster all of our upcoming initiatives.
Held at the Bell House in Gowanus, there will be music from DJ Bill Coleman and Ariel Aparicio, abbreviated selections from our "Off The Hook" plays, games from our "Police Teen Theater" project, and famous actors helping bring all the material to life. Michael Shannon ("Revolutionary Road") Crystal Dickinson ("Clybourne Park") and Brandon Dirden ("Tyler Perry's House of Payne") are part of the evening's festivities.
Also on the agenda: scrumptious food and beverages from local Red Hook restaurants, and a silent auction.
Whether he's putting a spin on the Psychedelic Furs' "Pretty in Pink," or taking a ride through one of his own gritty rock tunes, Aparicio brings a fetching mix of toughness and vulnerability to his music. He knows all about dreams and pressures of life in Brooklyn, and you can feel all those bumps in the songs he and his Hired Guns band kick apart.
Party people are always psyched to shake to it to Coleman, one of the city's superhero spinners. After almost 30 years of working the decks (from the cradle to the turntable," y'all), he's a master at reading a dance floor and knowing what beats will turn a room upside down. Anyone who's spent a Saturday night at G Lounge knows he makes a crowd really sweat.
Suggested Donation, $100.
($100 at the door)
